Hello, I am Madhura and welcome to MadhurasRecipe Marathi Let’s see how to make bhatache thalipeeth. We can use left over rice for this. This is very crunchy and crisp thalipeeth and perfect option for breakfast or lunch box. I have 1 cup cooked, leftover rice. I have used kani rice. This is soft rice. If your rice is dry or separated, sprinkle a little water, cover and microwave for 1 minute to make it soft. Mash the rice really good. I am using potato masher. It should come together nicely. You can also use food processor for this. I have mashed the rice really good. Let’s add other spices to it. I am adding 1 tbsp Jawar flour. It will give nice binding to this. Add 1 1/2 tsp coriander powder, garlic and green chili paste. I have used 2-3 green chilles and 5-6 garlic cloves and blended coarse in morter. Turmeric powder. Red chili powder, cumin seeds and a pinch of ajwain. 2-3 tsp finely chopped onion. Lots of finely chopped corinader. I just love corinder in each recipe. Add salt to taste. Let’s mix everything well together. Let’s make dough of it. I have kneaded the thalipeeth dough well. Now I am dividing this into 2 parts. You can make 2 medium size thalipeeth with 1 cup rice. I have taken a pan. I am going to roll thalipeeth on the pan. You can roll this on wet cloth if you want. You can use a little oil or water while rolling thalipeeth. I have rolled thalipeeth evenly. I will trun on the gas on medium heat. Cover and let’s cook this for about 3-4 minutes. I have cooked this for about 3-4 minutes. There is vapour inside the lid. Let me open the lid. Let’s add some oil on the thalipeeth and on sides. Let’s cook this uncovered for about 5-7 minutes or until it gets nice crisp. I have roasted thalipeeth on medium heat until crispy. Let’s flip it over now. Wow.. You can see. It has got nice crisp. Let it cook for about 5-6 minutes from other side. I have cooked this from another side for about 3-4 minutes. It has got nice aroma. Let’s take this into a serving dish. This thalipeeth goes well with peanut chutney or curd. This thalipeeth is perfect for breakfast for lunch box.
